Total Learning Academy
Leading Forth a Brighter Myanmar
About Us --> Leading Forth a Brighter Myanmar

At Total Learning Academy, we view our school as an independent, sustainable, and service-oriented organization that seeks to empower local agencies within Myanmar society. We believe that our students have the potential to become the next leaders of the country, and charge our instructors and administrators with providing a well-rounded education that sets learners up for success.
We offer a curriculum that extends learning from classroom to campus to city, and engages mind and body every step of the way. Students achieve excellence through rigorous academic study, and we supplement this with social and humanistic objectives that stress cooperative teamwork and ethical values. Students learn that the ultimate goal of personal development comes through the sharing of new knowledge and skills with peers. This robust educational experience is further strengthened by connecting school content with the realities of community and country.
At our Academy, this is what we practice as well as what we preach. We do so in classes that study Myanmar’s history and culture, as well as in lessons that seek to develop a young learner’s moral compass and personal responsibility. This happens through service projects, where we follow in the spirit of two of our prominent school mottos: “Be a force for good” and “Be part of the solution, not the problem.” It is also a message that we continue
returning to during many Morning Assemblies, Functions, Camps, and Festivals throughout the year. Indeed, the underlying premise of our school relies on the dedication and skill of local actors. It is in this way that we are unlike other aid organizations, NGOs, and foreign embassy assistance programs: we believe that change is most sustainable when programs are run by well-qualified and highly-trained local leaders. We believe that their investment in the quality of the school and its programs is far greater than foreigners coming for short-term assignments. And for this reason, we believe that by establishing productive branches and offering a whole-person education to students, we are doing our part to build a strong foundation that will reverberate for time to come in Myanmar.
